BOOK NEWS

The Torchwood Yearbook cover I used for Titan's announcement earlier this week (below) wasn't the finished version, and it has now been updated accordingly. The differences are subtle... nothing worth getting excited about! (Amazon still has the old version, if you want to compare them!)

BOOK NEWS

Titan Books have announced details of their Torchwood Yearbook...

Torchwood is the action-packed, adrenaline-fuelled sci-fi series from the BBC, following the adventures of a team of investigators, working for the secret organisation Torchwood, who use scavenged alien technology in a struggle to contain the mysterious and deadly challenges thrown at them through a space/time continuum Rift. The team, led by the enigmatic, ever-watchful Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman, reprising his Doctor Who role in this spin-off from the legendary series), is separate from the government, outside the police and beyond the United Nations.

Torchwood: The Official Magazine Yearbook [Titan Books, 22 August 2008, £7.99] is a full-colour official tie-in to the much-loved and top-rated show. Compiling the cream of the content from the Torchwood Official Magazine, with behind-the-scenes secrets from the Hub, cast and crew interviews and a series two episode guide, this hardback volume also contains five exclusive new Torchwood short stories to immerse readers in the world of the show, penned by the likes of Torchwood scriptwriter Joseph Lidster, Steven Savile (author of Titan’s Primeval: Shadow of the Jaguar) and Doctor Who novelist Andy Lane.

The book can be pre-ordered from Play.com and Amazon.co.uk for £4.99.

Also announced: a new Supernatural novel, titled Bone Key...

Supernatural is the hit series from the producers of The O.C. and The X-FiIes, starring Jared Padalecki (Gilmore Girls, House of Wax) and Jensen Ackles (Smallville, Dark Angel). Twenty-two years ago, Sam and Dean Winchester lost their mother to a demonic supernatural force. Growing up, they have learnt to hunt and kill the paranormal evil that lives in the dark corners and on the back roads of America…

Now, Supernatural: Bone Key [Titan Books, 26 September 2008, £6.99] takes fans even further inside the world of the hit series, revealing a previously unseen adventure for the Winchester brothers!

Monster hunters Sam and Dean Winchester head to Key West when an old acquaintance of their father calls to say that the coastal town’s many ghosts seem to have gone into overdrive. Soon after the brothers meet the ghost of Ernest Hemingway, they discover that a demon couple who escaped from the Devil’s Gate are supercharging the local spooks for their own purposes. But things go from bad to worse when the powerful spirit of a long-extinct Native American tribe decides to take its revenge on the “settlers”.

Join Sam and Dean on an unusual ghost hunt, in this thrilling original Supernatural novel, taking fans on an all-new monster hunt with the good, the ghastly, and the gorgeous of the hit ITV series from Warner Bros. International Television Distribution.

It can be pre-ordered from Play.com for £6.49, or from Amazon.co.uk, for £4.19.
