The two titles, which have been licensed
from Universal, look like they're in reasonably good shape. The films are
grainy, but they have pretty good greyscale and contrast.

have the two discs at a pre-order price of £9.99 each.
Second Sight also has Frank Henelotter's
delirious 1988 splatterfest Brain Damage lined up for DVD release,
on October the 29th.
The disc will feature Dolby Digital 5.1
audio, and a commentary track by Hennelotter, novelist Bob Martin and
filmmaker Scooter McRae. The RRP is £15.99. You can find the full press

Home Video has announced the details of the
Smallville - The Complete Sixth Season DVD set, which will be
released on October the 22nd.
The six-disc set features all twenty-two
episodes of the sixth season, which is currently being aired by E4 (it's
the season that introduces Oliver Queen, aka The Green Arrow).
The set also features several featurettes:
Green Arrow: The History of the Emerald Archer (a history of the
character); Smallville: Big Fans (a look at the series' superfans);
The Oliver Queen Chronicles (animated "mobisodes" originally made for
mobile phones); Superman - Doomsday trailer (for the latest
animated adventure, which features the death of the Man of Steel); and
deleted scenes from twelve episodes.
RRP for the set is £49.99. The series is
also being released in high definition, on Blu-ray and HD DVD, in the US.
Optimum have updated their schedule for the
last quarter of 2007. (If past experience is any guide, this will be very
much subject to change).

Author William Gibson will be signing
copies of his book Spook Country at Forbidden Planet, Shaftesbury
Avenue, London, on August the 29th, between 1 and 2pm. The book will be on
sale for £15.99 at the signing (RRP is £18.99).
