X-MEN 2

OFFICIAL UK PRESS RELEASE

STAND UNITED FOR THE EVOLUTION…
X-MEN 2 ON DVD AND VIDEO

The time has come to journey beyond the bounds of the ordinary and visit the realm of X-treme home entertainment… The eagerly anticipated and star-studded sequel to Bryan Singer’s first mutant masterpiece is unleashed bigger and better in X-Men 2 on DVD and Video. Based on the legendary Stan Lee’s original Marvel comic books, this sleek fast-moving sci-fi adventure can now be yours to rent and buy on 10th November 2003 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Bursting with state-of-the-art special effects and a range of super-cool characters, X-Men 2 offers the ultimate in stand-out futuristic action. The special edition 2-disc DVD boxset contains commentaries, featurettes, deleted scenes and much more to make it one of the most powerful value-packed DVDs this year.

X-Men 2 begins with the arrival of new teleporting mutant Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming) who unleashes panic across the nation following his assassination attempt on the President. Protests are sparked and renegade Stryker (Brian Cox) plots an elaborate plan to capture the pupils at Professor Xavier’s (Patrick Stewart) School for the ‘Gifted’. It is then up to the indestructible Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) to discover the truth about what is going on and in the process, the story behind his own identity.

The villainous Magneto (Ian McKellen) returns, breaking free from his inescapable cell with the help of shape-shifting comrade Mystique (Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, Femme Fatale), to create more cataclysmic events for the X-Men. As danger beckons, the mutants call upon their powers to an even greater extent. Dr Jean Grey (Famke Janssen, Goldeneye) reaches extraordinary new levels using her powers of telepathy alongside weather-manipulator extraordinaire Storm (Academy Award® winner Halle Berry, Monster’s Ball), life-force zapper Rogue (Anna Paquin, Buffalo Soldiers), laser beam Cyclops (James Marsden, Disturbing Behaviour) and the cool Iceman (Shawn Ashmore). United with further newcomers Lady Deathstrike (Kelly Hu, Scorpion King) and Pyro (Aaron Stanford), X-Men 2’s coalescence of new and old characters create intricate relationships and the most spectacular array of powers you will ever see in an action sci-fi movie!

Disc 1 of the DVD boxset contains commentaries from director Bryan Singer (X-Men, The Usual Suspects), composer John Ottman (Cable Guy) and cinematographer Tom Sigel (X-Men, Casino), whilst Disc 2 delivers a multiplicity of extras to tantalise everyone’s senses. Featuring 12 featurettes, 11 deleted scenes and 3 trailers you’ll be able to discover ‘the secret origin of X-Men’, witness the ‘Nightcrawler time-lapse’ and marvel at Wolverine’s ‘Deathstrike fight rehearsal’. All of this makes X-Men 2 the must-have highly acclaimed sequel that surpasses the adventure-filled excitement of even the first film, resulting in edge-of-your-seat sci-fi brilliance.

Trust a few, fear the rest… X-Men 2 on DVD and Video!
