Speaking of
Incoming,
please have a look at the list if you haven't done so recently. Dozens of
new titles have been added in the last week or so - there's something to
interest everyone! As usual, my thanks go to Ceri and Ben for their

IMAX NEWS
The
next feature film to be shown at IMAX cinemas in the UK (London, Bristol,
Birmingham and Glasgow) will be The Ant Bully, an animated family
film about ten-year-old child who's magically transported into an ant
colony.
The film, which comes from the producers of
an earlier IMAX hit, The Polar Express, will be presented in 3D
format at the IMAX. Writer / producer John A. Davis comments: "IMAX 3D has
the power and depth to engage audiences in a unique way, which works
perfectly for a story like this, where you want to leave the real world
behind and follow this ten-year-old kid underground into the ant colony or
through the wilds of his own front lawn. Part of his adventure is seeing
things he’s never seen before and seeing familiar things from a whole new
perspective, and we’d love for audiences to take that amazing journey with
him.”
The film, which features the voices of
Julia Roberts, Nicolas Cage, Meryl Streep, Paul Giamatti, Regina King,
Bruce Campbell and Lily Tomlin, will open at the IMAX on August the 4th
(the same time as the normal 35mm version hits ordinary cinemas). Tickets will go on sale later
this month.
