ZETA MINOR NEWS

Please visit the Incoming page. It's continually being updated with new titles, additional information and more etailer links. A lot of effort is expended keeping the database up to date, and we know from the feedback we get that many of you find it very useful. You can post comments about, and corrections to, the database in this Roobarb's DVD Forum thread.

Sharp-eyed visitors might have spotted our new News banner today... just something to keep the site fresh and up to date. No prizes for naming the people or titles. They are: Brad Dourif as Doc Cochran in the third series of Deadwood (which started airing yesterday in the US); Hugh Laurie as Doctor Gregory House in House, MD (shame Universal completely botched the DVD release); Michael Caine as Jack Carter in the evergreen British classic Get Carter; Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes as Silent Bob and Jay, in the poster art for Clerks II - opening next month in the US; a Cyclops from The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe; Philip Seymour Hoffman giving his Oscar-winning performance in Capote, due on DVD on the 3rd of July; Lost's Emilie de Ravin in Brick (due on disc in September); and Patrick McNee as John Steed, in The Avengers.

The Borg Fan Collective is released on July the 3rd. The Time Travel Collective is due on August the 14th. The RRP for both sets is £34.99.

Tartan has announced two additions to its Grindhouse label, which will be released on August the 21st.

The first is the comic book caper Bloody Mallory, which Tartan describes as "Resident Evil meets Buffy The Vampire Slayer".

The film, about a band of demon-slaying commandos on a mission to rescue the Pope from the forces of evil, stars Jefferson in Paris' Olivia Bonamy.

The film will be presented in anamorphic widescreen format, with a choice of Dolby Digital 2.0, 5.1 and DTS audio tracks. The film is in French with English subtitles (there's no indication if these are burnt-in or not). Bonus features include a trailer and notes by Billy Chainsaw (stop sniggering at the back, there!)

The other is the 1995 documentary Black Sun: Nanking Massacre (Hei tai yang Nan Jing da tu sha), which is about the 1937 massacre at the Chinese city of Nanking, where three hundred thousand people were slaughtered.

The disc includes a "historical documentary", and a booklet featuring an interview with the film's director, Tun Fei Mou.

Both titles have an RRP of £15.99.
