Tartan
has announced two additions to its Grindhouse label, which will be
released on August the 21st.
The first is the comic book caper
Bloody Mallory, which Tartan describes as "Resident Evil
meets Buffy The Vampire Slayer".
The film, about a band of demon-slaying
commandos on a mission to rescue the Pope from the forces of evil, stars
Jefferson in Paris' Olivia Bonamy.
The film will be presented in anamorphic
widescreen format, with a choice of Dolby Digital 2.0, 5.1 and DTS audio
tracks. The film is in French with English subtitles (there's no
indication if these are burnt-in or not). Bonus features include a trailer
and notes by Billy Chainsaw (stop sniggering at the back, there!)
The other is the 1995 documentary
Black Sun: Nanking Massacre (Hei tai yang Nan Jing da tu sha),
which is about the 1937 massacre at the Chinese city of Nanking, where
three hundred thousand people were slaughtered.
The disc includes a "historical
documentary", and a booklet featuring an interview with the film's
director, Tun Fei Mou.
Both titles have an RRP of £15.99.
