DVD NEWS

Sony Picture Home Entertainment will release Eli Roth's horror movie Hostel on DVD on August the 7th. The disc is subtitled Unseen Edition, and, as the title suggests, it will feature a new version of the film, with previously-unseen footage.

The film, about a group of backpackers holidaying in Slovakia who stray into the hands of torturers, will be supplemented with four commentary tracks (Eli does love his commentary tracks: his last film, Cabin Fever, had five!); three Making of... featurettes totalling "nearly an hour"; and a multi-angle scene. The RRP is £19.99.

The release of CSI: Miami - Season Three - Episodes 3.1 - 3.12 has been put back a week. It will now be released on June the 5th. The discs do contain two featurettes: Deep Blue Sea (9m) and Visualising Season Three (12m). A selection of menu screens for the set can be seen here.

The Pierce Brosnan drama-comedy The Matador has been re-scheduled, and will now be released on July the 10th. Click on the title for more details and etailer links.

Season one of Gray's Anatomy has also been moved - also to July the 10th.

4DVD will release an interactive Big Brother DVD game on June the 26th. Each player can choose to play as Anna Nolan (BB1); Brian Dowling (BB2); Jade Goody (BB3); John Tickle (BB4); Nadia Almada (BB5) or Eugene Sully (BB6), and will compete over eight rounds representing the eight weeks (Big Brother Trivia / Name the Year / Missing Housemate, Diary Room Demons / Headline Grabbers, Matching Pairs / Name the Housemate, What Happened Next?, Rucks & Rows, Catchphrase, Eviction Time!) to earn points. The disc also includes a single-player trivia game. The RRP is £17.99.
