THE CRAFT: COLLECTOR'S EDITION

Director: Andrew Fleming

Starring: Fairuza Balk, Robin Tunney, Neve Campbell

Four teenage girls become witches.

Fleming’s spiky 1996 feature has been reissued by Columbia Tristar in an edition that adds several worthwhile extra features to their bare-bones disc, perhaps in recognition of the burgeoning careers of at least three of its three female leads. Fans of the film will want to upgrade to get the new features: a director’s commentary track, a new twenty-five minute documentary, Conjuring the Craft, three deleted scenes (totalling about seven minutes), and an isolated music track in Dolby Digital 5.0 (at 384kbps), showcasing Graeme Revell’s quirky score and the obligatory pop songs. The UK disc is missing the contemporary “Making of…” documentary on the Region 1 disc, however, so that seems to be a better bet.
