DVD NEWS

Menu screens and sample screen grabs from Second Sight's The Raven and The Black Cat DVDs can be found here.

The two titles, which have been licensed from Universal, look like they're in reasonably good shape. The films are grainy, but they have pretty good greyscale and contrast.

Check out the Incoming links: HMV have the two discs at a pre-order price of £9.99 each.

Second Sight also has Frank Henelotter's delirious 1988 splatterfest Brain Damage lined up for DVD release, on October the 29th.

The disc will feature Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, and a commentary track by Hennelotter, novelist Bob Martin and filmmaker Scooter McRae. The RRP is £15.99. You can find the full press release as part of the disc's Incoming record, here.

Warner Home Video has announced the details of the Smallville - The Complete Sixth Season DVD set, which will be released on October the 22nd.

The six-disc set features all twenty-two episodes of the sixth season, which is currently being aired by E4 (it's the season that introduces Oliver Queen, aka The Green Arrow).

The set also features several featurettes: Green Arrow: The History of the Emerald Archer (a history of the character); Smallville: Big Fans (a look at the series' superfans); The Oliver Queen Chronicles (animated "mobisodes" originally made for mobile phones); Superman - Doomsday trailer (for the latest animated adventure, which features the death of the Man of Steel); and deleted scenes from twelve episodes.

RRP for the set is £49.99. The series is also being released in high definition, on Blu-ray and HD DVD, in the US.
